The Color is Coming Back

For several weeks it has seemed as if everything is white.  It's a nice, clean looking color - but it really makes you appreciate when we get another view of the color palette.  Nicholi, our painter, is the primary color guy and today he stained the back doors.

They still have the masking on them and don't have their trim yet, but it was great to see them looking so good.  We actually don't think they have ever looked this good before.  They were in pretty rough shape to begin with.  Nicholi wasn't sure he could do much with them - he even encouraged us to replace them at one point.  But he stuck with them - stripping the old finish off them and sanding them to a really nice finish.  The stain looks great - he had it created just for us - and one the clear coat is on I think these doors are going to hold their own amongst the other new furnishings.

Today was also more work on the trim.  More and more of the windows are finished.  Today the front door got it's trim pieces and we are just starting to see the first signs of the crown molding.

Rumor has it that we might get our countertop on Friday - but we'll have to wait and see.
