This week we are getting several of the visual style pieces installed - but these floors have stolen the show. The color and the tone are right on and it's just amazing to see them. We've been carrying around a 12 inch piece of this floor since March and it looks even better on the larger scale.
The floor was the first element of the remodel that we picked out. The other colors and surfaces were picked out to coordinate with the floors. It was so exciting to see them going in...though it was the most noisy day with nailers and grinders going. It is hard not to just stand and stare at the floors.
The black accent in the middle of the floor will go. I know you were admiring the design element, but it goes tomorrow :)
Don't worry - the cardboard sidewalks are just temporary.
AND the glass tile is going in on the kitchen backsplash. The tiles give so much texture to the walls, and provide a real splash of color. The kitchen is really starting to come together.
Tomorrow Matt-the-tile-guy comes back to finish the kitchen and work on the tile around the fireplace. The flooring guys are back too. Things are picking up quickly.
Beautiful! (I'm a bit prejudiced, of course...)
